Getting Started

Samsung Pay is the smart wallet which allows you to easily make payments and use your loyalty cards simply by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.

It is super easy to use and is compatible with Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9 and Note 9 models as well as the Galaxy Watch, Gear S2 and S3 smart watches.

Samsung Pay comes pre-installed on most recent Samsung phones. If you don’t have the app, you can download it from the Google Play store. 

Setting up Samsung Pay

  1. Open Samsung Pay
  2. Touch ‘Add a credit card or debit card’
  3. Scan card and follow the prompts
  4. Once registration is complete, select VISA or eftpos for payment

How to use Samsung Pay

Once set up, Samsung Pay is easy to use. 

  1. Swipe up from your home screen to access the app once you have an approved card.
  2. Use your fingerprint, iris1 or passcode to authorise the payment and verify your identity. 
  3. Tap your device at the pay terminal. 
  4. Swipe up to change your default payment between Visa (CR) and eftpos (SAV) at any time.

Where can I use Samsung Pay?

Samsung Pay is accepted at any of the millions of stores that accept contactless payments.

You can pay using Visa at VISA merchants worldwide and pay using eftpos at eftpos merchants in Australia. Some merchants may not accept eftpos contactless payments but you can switch between paying with Visa or eftpos on your Heritage card at any time. 

What’s the difference between Samsung Pay with eftpos or Visa?

There are more ways to pay with eftpos on Samsung Pay.

When you tap eftpos on Samsung Pay using your Heritage card you’ll get secure, easy and quick contactless transactions. Plus: 

  • Tap eftpos (SAV) to access cash out at selected merchants 
  • Avoid any merchant fees for paying with Visa (CR)
  • Switch between eftpos (SAV) and Visa (CR) transactions at any time

What if my device is lost or stolen?

You should call us immediately on 13 14 22 and we can assist you to suspend or delete your Heritage card/s.

Your payment information is not accessible without your fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN. For added security, the Samsung Find My Mobile service can remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Samsung Pay.* 

My Samsung Pay isn’t working.

If you are having issues with setting up Samsung Pay, check you are adding an active Heritage Visa Card that has the payWave symbol.

You will also need to be connected to the internet when adding a payment card.

If you have an international payment block on your card, this will also block the card from being loaded.
