A generous donation from Heritage Bank is helping children’s charity Paradise Kids support Gold Coast families through the trauma of illness and loss.
Paradise Kids received over $4300 as a beneficiary of funds raised from the sale of Heritage’s 2021 calendar. In a much-loved tradition that began in 1982, Heritage selects a historically significant Queensland home to feature on its printed calendar each year. A copy of the calendar is available to the community for a gold coin donation, with proceeds donated to a number of charities around southern Queensland.
Heritage Bank Area Branch Manager Nicole Beam said, “Paradise Kids is based at Arundel and support children encountering trauma, illness and death. They offer individual and group counselling, as well as activities such as Art Therapy.
“It was great to meet with Paul Reis and Alissa Miller from Wesley Mission Queensland, the operational partner of Paradise Kids, and hear firsthand about the services they provide.”
Paradise Kids are currently in the process of updating their individual counselling rooms to make them age appropriate and inviting for the children. Each room features an Australian animal theme and costs around $3000-$4000 to complete. Heritage’s donation will enable another room to be completed.
“The Heritage calendar attracts strong support year after year, not only from customers but the wider community,” Ms Beam said.
“Thanks to this support, we are able to donate much-needed funds to assist wonderful charities like Paradise Kids continue the important work they do for the community.”
