Heritage Bank has just made it easier for customers to transfer funds to someone else’s account within seconds.
Heritage today announced the completion of its rollout of services via the New Payments Platform, enabling near real-time funds transfers.
The New Payments Platform (NPP) is a payments infrastructure introduced in Australia that allows people to transfer funds almost immediately between accounts at participating financial institutions.
Last week Heritage Bank rolled out an update for its mobile banking app that includes the ability to send payments to a PayID – a unique identifier like an email address or Australian mobile number.
That means if you need to make a payment to someone, you can do so using a PayID and the money will appear in their account in near real-time.
The rollout is now complete, marking the end of Heritage’s staggered release of NPP services after they launched the ability to receive NPP faster payments last year.
Heritage members now have the convenience and flexibility to both send and receive NPP faster payments via the Heritage Mobile Banking App using a BSB and account number, or a PayID.
Heritage Bank CEO Peter Lock said, “Our focus is on providing our members with a great banking experience.
“We know they want fast, simple, and convenient options to send and receive payments between financial institutions. That’s why we’re absolutely thrilled to offer NPP faster payments via our app.
“Through NPP faster payments, our members have more freedom in how they send and receive money and can easily keep track of how they stand financially in near real-time.”
“We’re proud to deliver more banking choices for our members and are continuing to explore other opportunities to bolster our digital services in the future.”
