Millmerran community groups share in over $70,000 in funding grants

4 June 2019

Community groups from the Millmerran district have received a much needed boost, sharing in over $70,000 thanks to the latest round of funding grants from Heritage Millmerran Community Branch.

Heritage Millmerran Community Branch and joint venture partner Millmerran Community Company presented just over $35,000 to 14 community groups in early June. Millmerran Community Company matched the grants dollar for dollar, bringing the total amount above $70,000.

Millmerran Community Company Ltd Chairman Denys Kirby said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with Heritage to give back to the people who contribute so much to our community.

“We’re particularly proud to give back to such a diverse group this year including schools, environmental groups and sporting clubs, and special community events.”

Heritage Millmerran Community Branch Manager Tasha Lyons said, “We are so humbled by the continued support we receive from locals who bank with us each day.

“Because of them we’re able to return the community company’s share of the branch profits back into our Millmerran via funding grants.  That’s the great thing about being a community branch.”

Val Lindenmayer from Millmerran Memorial Bowls Club said the grants program provided many smaller community groups the opportunity to complete projects they may not have been able to otherwise.

“We are so very grateful to receive support from Heritage and Millmerran Community Company. Whether visiting the branch or seeing them out and about in the community, you can see they really do have the best interests of our community at heart.”
