Heritage Bank Peter Cleary Memorial Scholarship

The Heritage Bank Peter Cleary Memorial Scholarship was established to honour the memory of a much-loved former Heritage Bank Executive, Peter Cleary. It assists second-year business students from rural and regional Queensland, who are completing a Bachelor of Business at the University of Southern Queensland.

Awarded annually in January, the scholarship aims to build capability for the skill sets of accounting, business, and finance - helping develop the next generation of professionals in these occupations.

A little about Peter Cleary

Peter Cleary had a 24-year career at Heritage, including a significant period as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer, before sadly passing away in 2019 after a long illness.

Peter was passionate about developing careers and looking out for people. He was also very active within Toowoomba’s service groups and his church community.
